Love and Marriage

Question: When/how did you know you wanted to marry the other person?

Jeremy said: After Thanksgiving I started to have inclinations. It was not until January that I had a great experience that pushed me to get the ball rolling.
Mandy said: I wanted to marry him really quickly. Pretty much right away. At first I worried that I was thinking about marriage too fast, but with time I realized that Jeremy could handle the good and hard moments equally, which made me more and more sure.

Question: What are you most looking forward to about being married?

Mandy said: Coming home to Jeremy. Seeing him before I go to bed and when I wake up in the morning.
Jeremy said: Being able to see Mandy every day, and not having to drive back home late in the evening.

Question: What was the hardest part about proposing to Mandy?

Jeremy:
Getting the right ring and the finding the right time.

Question: How did Jeremy propose?

Mandy said: In a garden at the Getty art museum. He pulled out the ring and said “Will you marry me?” Then we sat on a bench and talked.

Question: Where are you going on your honeymoon?

Mandy and Jeremy said: Colorado. Denver, then near Vail at a lodge.

True Love...

Question: When did you know you were in love?

Jeremy said: A week or two before Thanksgiving.
Mandy said: There wasn’t really one moment. I always thought very highly of Jeremy and hoped the relationship would progress. The night we took our engagement pictures, he was saying really nice things to me and I started crying. I just kept thinking, “How come it took us so long to find each other?”

Question: Who said “I love you” first and when?

Jeremy said: I did, about a week or two before Thanksgiving.
Mandy said: He did. I was so sick with the flu (one of sickest I've ever been) and Jeremy was going to come visit, but I said not to because I was so sick. But then I hung up and was really sad, so I called him back and asked him to come over. That night he told me he knew he loved me because he would rather come be with me when I was so sick than stay home and play rockband with his roommate.”

Question: What are the top three reasons you love each other?

Jeremy said: I don’t do lists like these. Basically, I love her for who she is; a wonderful and loving person.
Mandy said: He’s kind, he treats me really well, and I have fun and feel really comfortable with him.

What is a funny memory you have together?

Mandy said: We were driving in Jeremy's new, fancy car to spend Thanksgiving with his family, and Jeremy asked me to look something up about the car in the owner's manual. In the manual, I read saomething about a Message Center. I, however, thought it said Massage Center, so I asked him about it (I thought it was a pretty cool idea). We had a good laugh!

Jeremy said: The simple fact that my hometeaching companion and I were asking her out at the same time. Or playing dodge ball with her and her family.

Dating and Kissing...

Question: What did you do for your first date, and how did you feel afterwards?

Speaking of the first kiss...

Jeremy said: Soft, sweet, quick

Mandy said: Sweet, respectful, short (I was kind of dating someone else too at the time and felt bad, so I was glad it was short)

First Impressions

Question: What was Jeremy's first impression of Mandy?

Jeremy said: That she was very beautiful, but was not a snob. She was friendly to everyone.

Mandy said: He thought I was cute. He knew I was friends with someone he respected.

Question: What was Mandy's first impression of Jeremy?

Mandy said: I thought he was very serious the first time I saw him. My second impression was that he was funny and good looking.

Jeremy said: That I was a dork/nerd.

Question: What was it that first attracted you to the other person?

Jeremy said: Her smile and demeanor.

Mandy said: The first time I saw him my friend was pointing him out to me, because I knew he wanted to meet me. My first thought was, “I don’t know if I want to meet him,” because he looked really serious and I had just broken up with someone really serious. But the first time I really met him, he was really fun, making jokes, etc. I was at his house and the Olympics were on, and he and his roommate derived a formula to calculate the velocity of the divers (he's an engineer). I thought it was really funny, and thought they were joking at first, but they were actually serious.
